Platform Operations and Analytics

An operator's view of the whole marketplace: GMV, merchants, orders, customers, take rate and category mix across two linked screens.

These images are illustrations of the concept, not screenshots of the actual product.

Overview

Platform Operations and Analytics is the operator's side of Kadaikodi. Merchants each see their own storefront, orders and sales, but the people who run the marketplace need one place that answers a different set of questions: how much is flowing through the platform, how many merchants and customers are active, which categories and sellers drive volume, and what is waiting for a decision. This concept illustrates that place as a web console for platform administrators.

Without a consolidated view, marketplace health tends to be pieced together by hand: merchant counts from one list, order volume from another, revenue by category rebuilt in a spreadsheet at month end. The design brings those signals together so an operator can read the state of the marketplace at a glance and move straight from a signal to the work behind it.

The illustrated experience spans two screens. The Platform Overview dashboard opens with headline cards for gross merchandise value, active merchants, total orders and active customers, each with a change indicator against a recent period. Below them sit a revenue-by-category donut, an order-trend line across the month, a ranked list of top merchants with their revenue, and a Pending Merchant Approvals card with a count and a Review button designed to open merchant verification. The Analytics screen goes deeper for a chosen period through a This Month selector. Alongside GMV it shows the take rate, the resulting platform revenue and the number of new merchants, followed by a category distribution donut, a GMV-over-time area chart for the last 30 days, a customer growth line and a horizontal bar ranking of top categories by revenue.

Together the two screens are designed to cover both the daily check-in and the periodic review. The operator console sits alongside the merchant console, customer app and worker app in Kadaikodi's multi-role model: the orders, merchants and customers behind those surfaces roll up into these platform-wide figures, and the approvals queue is designed to connect directly to the onboarding and verification flow that brings new carts and shops onto the marketplace. All figures, merchant names and categories in the illustrations are sample data.

What this concept shows

  • Headline cards for GMV, active merchants, total orders and active customers, each with a trend indicator
  • Revenue-by-category donut that labels each category's share and shows total revenue at its center
  • Month-long order trend line with a callout for the current day's order count
  • Ranked top-merchants list showing each seller's name, specialty and revenue
  • Pending Merchant Approvals card with a waiting count and a Review action designed to open verification
  • Take rate and platform revenue shown next to GMV, so operator earnings are read against marketplace volume
  • Period selector driving GMV-over-time, customer growth and top-categories-by-revenue charts

How it works

  1. Open the Platform Overview dashboard to check GMV, active merchants, total orders and active customers against their recent trends.
  2. Scan the revenue-by-category donut and the order-trend line to see where volume comes from and how it moved over the month.
  3. Review the top-merchants ranking to see which carts and shops lead on revenue.
  4. Select Review on the Pending Merchant Approvals card to work through merchants waiting for verification.
  5. Switch to Analytics and choose a period to compare GMV with take rate, platform revenue and new-merchant sign-ups.
  6. Read the GMV-over-time, customer growth and top-categories-by-revenue charts to judge marketplace momentum and category mix.

Who it's for

  • Marketplace operators and platform administrators
  • Merchant onboarding and success teams
  • Finance and business leads tracking GMV and take rate
  • Growth and category managers

Platform Overview Dashboard

Marketplace health at a glance: headline metrics, category mix, order trend, top merchants and pending approvals.

This illustration shows the Platform Overview screen of the operator console in a desktop browser. A left sidebar labeled Platform Admin groups the admin panel into Dashboard, Carts, Orders, Users, Analytics and Financial, with Dashboard highlighted. Across the top, four cards report GMV, active merchants, total orders and active customers, each with a small green indicator of change since last month or this week. The middle row pairs a Revenue by Category donut, which labels each category's share, puts the total at its center and carries a color-coded legend of the five categories beneath it, with an Order Trends line chart that runs across the month and calls out today's count. On the right, a Top Merchants list ranks three sample sellers, such as a breakfast tiffin cart and a neighborhood grocery, with their specialty and revenue, and a Pending Merchant Approvals card shows how many are waiting next to a prominent Review button. All values are sample data.

Marketplace Analytics

Period-based analytics linking GMV, take rate and platform revenue with category mix and customer growth.

This illustration shows the Analytics screen of the Kadaikodi Marketplace console in a desktop app window. The sidebar lists Dashboard, Analytics, Merchants, Customers, Orders, Products, Payments, Marketing, Settings and Support, with the signed-in admin user at the bottom. A This Month selector at the top right sets the period. Four cards show GMV, a take rate marked as stable, platform revenue and new merchants, so the operator's own revenue reads directly against marketplace volume. Below, a Category Distribution donut splits total revenue across food and beverage, grocery, fashion, repairs and home services, and a GMV over time area chart tracks the last 30 days. A Customer Growth line charts a rising customer count on a labeled vertical axis, and a Top Categories by Revenue horizontal bar chart ranks the same five categories with a value printed beside each bar. All figures are illustrative sample data.
