Distributor Secondary Sales and Stock Cover

Every distributor's outlet orders, fill rate, weeks of cover and near-expiry stock in one view, with outlet orders taken on the beat.

These images are illustrations of the concept, not screenshots of the actual product.

Overview

In consumer goods, a brand usually sees what it invoices to its distributors but not what those distributors sell on to the outlets they serve. One distributor can sit on surplus stock while outlets served by another run out, and cases nearing expiry are hard to count until it is late. This concept shows a brand running its distributor network on Kadaikodi's multi-merchant model: each distributor is a merchant with its own stock, and each outlet orders from the distributor it is mapped to.

The desktop illustration places a Distributor Network page under Analytics in Kadaikodi's Platform Admin, covering secondary sales for two sample regions in one week. Tiles report outlet orders, outlets that have not ordered in three weeks, average weeks of cover and near-expiry cases. The Distributors table gives each distributor's region, outlet orders, fill rate, weeks of cover, near-expiry cases and a Healthy, Low cover, Watch or Overstocked status, and the sample rows add up to the order and near-expiry totals. The overstocked distributor is highlighted, and a side panel breaks its stock down by product and pack size, with cases expiring before January on two lines, one product out of stock at dozens of outlets, and Suggest transfer and Open distributor buttons.

The phone illustration shows the same network from the beat. In the Kadaikodi worker app, a field salesperson marked On beat sees counts of outlets, visits and orders, and each outlet appears as a Visit task, a new task type in the design. The open card runs a must-stock check, suggests an order in cases, shows a buy-five-get-one-free scheme and ends in Place order, noting that the order ships from the highlighted distributor with stock checked; its out-of-stock body wash is the product the desktop panel shows missing at dozens of that distributor's outlets. Must-stock lists and schemes are designed as catalog attributes. A second card flags an outlet with no order in three weeks.

Each distributor is designed to see only its own outlets, stock and orders. A panel note says batch numbers come from MoveTheWheels shipments, with two loads in transit: MoveTheWheels is designed to supply the batch number and expiry date on each primary shipment, so near-expiry cases can be counted by distributor and stock from a batch on hold can be flagged with the outlets that ordered it. A second note says the data is sent to BigConsole via FluidGrids every two hours, reflecting the intent that a FluidGrids automation carries the same figures into a BigConsole data sink.

What this concept shows

  • Tiles for outlet orders, outlets not ordering in three weeks, average weeks of cover and near-expiry cases
  • Distributors table with region, outlet orders, fill rate, weeks of cover, near-expiry cases and status
  • Healthy, Low cover, Watch and Overstocked status chips
  • Distributor panel with weeks of cover by product, cases expiring before January and out-of-stock outlets
  • Suggest transfer and Open distributor actions
  • Panel notes on batch numbers from MoveTheWheels shipments and a two-hourly send to BigConsole via FluidGrids
  • Outlet Visit task in the worker app with a must-stock check, suggested order and scheme
  • Place order from the visit, shipped from the mapped distributor after a stock check

How it works

  1. MoveTheWheels primary shipments are designed to bring batch numbers and expiry dates into each distributor's stock.
  2. Open Distributor Network under Analytics and scan outlet orders, silent outlets, weeks of cover and near-expiry cases.
  3. Compare distributors by fill rate, weeks of cover and status, and select one that needs attention.
  4. Read its stock by product in the side panel, then suggest a transfer or open the distributor.
  5. On the beat, the salesperson opens each outlet's Visit task, runs the must-stock check and reviews the suggested order and scheme.
  6. Tap Place order to send the order to the outlet's distributor, with stock checked.
  7. A FluidGrids automation is designed to send the figures to BigConsole every two hours.

Distributor Network With Stock Cover and Near-Expiry Cases

Secondary sales by distributor: fill rate, weeks of cover, near-expiry cases and one distributor's stock by product.

This illustration shows a Distributor Network page in Kadaikodi's Platform Admin, inside a desktop browser window, with Analytics active in a sidebar that also lists Dashboard, Carts, Orders, Users and Financial. The subtitle covers secondary sales for two sample regions in one week. Tiles report outlet orders this week with an upward arrow, outlets not ordering in three weeks, average weeks of cover and near-expiry cases. The Distributors table lists five sample distributors with region, outlet orders, fill rate, weeks of cover, near-expiry cases and a status chip: two Healthy, one Low cover, one Watch and one Overstocked. The overstocked row is highlighted, and a side panel lists four of its products by pack size with weeks of cover, cases expiring before January on two and one product out of stock at dozens of outlets. Notes cite batch numbers from MoveTheWheels shipments, with two loads in transit, and data sent to BigConsole via FluidGrids every two hours, above Suggest transfer and Open distributor buttons.

Outlet Visit With Must-Stock Check and Suggested Order

On the beat, a salesperson checks must-stock lines, reviews a suggested order and places it with the distributor.

This illustration shows the worker app on a phone, with Tasks active in a bottom bar beside Schedule, Orders and Profile. A greeting names a sample field salesperson on a Tuesday market-road beat, with a green On beat status. Tiles count the outlets on the beat, outlets visited and orders taken so far. Under Outlet visits, the open card is tagged Visit with an outlet number and a sample store name. Its must-stock check shows a body wash out of stock, marked red, and a dishwash liquid with three on the shelf, marked green. A suggested order lists two cases of the body wash and one of hair oil, and a chip offers a buy-five-cases-get-one-free scheme on a smaller dishwash pack. Place order sits above a note that the order ships from a sample distributor with stock checked. A second Visit card below flags another store with no order in three weeks.
